Why this one
Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), the master who brought Buddhism to Tibet, seated on a lotus in his lotus hat and layered robes. He holds a vajra in his right hand and a skull cup with the vase of long life in his left, the trident staff (khatvanga) resting in the crook of his arm. Three Buddhas sit above; attendant figures and a yellow wealth deity sit below.
Black-and-gold style — almost the entire figure is worked in fine gold pattern, with colour kept for the face, the halo jewels and the smaller figures.
Painted on a single cotton canvas, unmounted. Ships rolled in a rigid tube from Sydney, or we can arrange a silk brocade mount.
